Action Research Into Music Technology Engagement
by Steven Edwards

I aimed to identify the key aspects that instrumental music teachers needed to learn to upgrade their teaching practice in the digital age. I assessed the current level of music technology used by instrumental teachers and identified ways to improve their knowledge and use of technology. I hoped to provide insights into the challenges faced by music teachers in integrating technology into their teaching practice and offer training material to help with improving their technological expertise.
Jazz and Cultural Capital
by Steven Edwards

In the UK Jazz is regarded as a high form of art, yet seemingly only found in upmarket specific jazz venues that cater for primarily for high-end diners, or Informal and often unpaid, jam sessions in the local pub. I wish to discuss the idea of ‘capital’ other than simply economic outcome. This relates directly to my placement observing Jazz undergraduate students, and in turn can help identify the relationship between study and professional praxis.
